The first time, your browser fetches the reader: about 9 MB, and 1 to 6 MB for each other language. After that, a page takes a second or two, even a tilted phone photo.
Runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded.
The text appears here, ready to copy or fix.

Which languages can it read?+
29: English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Urdu, Kannada, Odia, Malayalam, Punjabi, Assamese, Nepali, Sanskrit, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Indonesian, Turkish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Russian, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified). English is read alongside every Indian language automatically.
Can it read a scanned PDF?+
Yes, page by page, up to 30 pages at a time. A PDF that already has its own text layer is copied exactly, without reading the picture.
How many languages can I pick at once?+
Up to three. Each adds a model to load and a pass to run, so choose only the scripts that are really on the page; English comes free with any Indian language.
Does it read handwriting?+
Not reliably. The reader is trained on printed text; a neatly hand-filled form gives a rough draft at best, and signatures and scribbles come out as noise.
My Hindi PDF copies out as gibberish. Why?+
It was typed in a legacy font such as Kruti Dev or Chanakya, which maps English keys to Hindi shapes, so its text layer isn't real Unicode. Choose only Hindi and the reader reads the picture of the page instead, giving text you can paste anywhere.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?+
No. The reader and its language models run in your browser, and the words stay on your device. There is no account and no log.
