How to make the SSC CGL and MTS files
- Pick the upload at the top of the tool: photo, signature. The size, pixels and DPI from the notice are filled in for you.
- Drop in your image. For a photo, a recent one taken facing the camera against a plain wall in even light. For a signature, sign in black ink on white paper and photograph it flat; the tool trims to the ink and whitens the paper.
- Make it, check the ticks, download. Each tick is one part of the spec (KB band, pixels, DPI) measured on the finished file. The file is named for the form and the upload, so you can tell them apart when you upload.
Worth knowing for SSC CGL and MTS (2025–26)
- There is no photo to prepare: the form opens your camera and takes it. Sit in good light against a plain wall, camera at eye level, no cap, mask or spectacles.
- Only the signature is uploaded, and its 10–20 KB band is narrow; the tool lands the JPEG inside it and checks.
Questions
Do I upload a photo for SSC CGL and MTS?+
No. Not uploaded: the form takes it live by webcam or phone. Plain background, face inside the on-screen frame, no cap, mask or spectacles.
What size should the SSC CGL and MTS signature be?+
10–20 KB. JPEG, and the signature should fill at least 80% of its box.
What if my file is still over the limit?+
The tool keeps the pixels the form asks for and lowers the JPEG quality a step at a time until the file fits the band, then checks it; it tells you if quality had to drop below half. A plain, evenly lit background and a tight crop around the face shrink a photo the most.
Where do these numbers come from?+
From SSC CGL notice (includes 2026), p. 18 ¶9.4 and p. 71, read 23 September 2026. Notices change between years, so check the latest one before you submit.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?+
No. The file is resized in your browser and stays on your device; nothing is sent to Sochen or anyone else.
